Can You Get Waxed on Your Period? (And Other Questions You’re Afraid to Ask)

If you’ve ever thought, “I want to get waxed, but I’m embarrassed to ask…”—this post is for you. At Rebel Wax Studio, there’s no such thing as a weird question. We’re here to make you feel confident, informed, and totally comfortable before your appointment. So let’s break down some of the most common (and completely normal) questions we get asked all the time.

1. Can I get waxed on my period?

Yes! You can absolutely get waxed during your period—as long as you wear a clean tampon or menstrual cup. Just know that your skin might feel more sensitive due to hormonal changes. If you’re especially prone to discomfort, you may want to wait until your period ends but it’s completely up to you.

2. Should I trim before my wax?

Nope! We’ve got you. In fact, it’s better if you don’t. Hair should be about ¼ inch long (grain of rice) preferably longer for the best results. If trimming is needed, we’ll take care of it for you during the appointment.

3. Is it normal to sweat or shake a little during my wax?

Totally normal. Especially for first-timers or when you’re a little nervous. We create a calm, judgment-free zone and walk you through every step so you feel in control.

4. What if I’m embarrassed about my body or hair?

Please don’t be. We’ve seen everything and nothing about you is strange or shocking. Different body types, hair types, and growth patterns are completely normal here. Our job is to make you feel comfortable and cared for.

5. What if I’m scared it will hurt too much?

It’s normal to feel nervous before your first wax. But we use our very own high-quality hard wax, Rebel Wax, designed for sensitive skin and walk you through every step. Most clients say it wasn’t nearly as bad as they expected and the smooth results are so worth it.
